Finished in the extremely rare Nero Carbonio Metallizzato FER 901/C, it stands in a class of its own. While nearly all Challenge cars were delivered in Rosso Corsa, this factory confirmed colour makes this example genuinely exceptional and significantly more collectible. Just as important, this F355 Challenge is road legal and was genuinely road registered from new. It is not a later track conversion, but a period correct, street legal Challenge car exactly as Ferrari intended when the series was created. As an early, first generation example, it is equipped with the highly sought after Bosch Motronic M2.7 engine management system, widely regarded by knowledgeable enthusiasts as the most responsive and pure configuration of the F355 Challenge. Throttle response is immediate, the engine feels alive at all times, and the character is raw in the best possible way.What truly sets this car apart is its exceptional level of originality, with a remarkable amount of factory correct detail rarely seen on F355 Challenge cars today. It retains its correct Speedline Corse magnesium wheels with proper codes and original factory stickers still visible on the inside. All defining Challenge components are present exactly as intended, including the fire extinguisher, engine cut off switch, correct tow hook, rear quick release fasteners and the correct black Challenge rear grille. All windows remain the correct original Ferrari SIGLA glass with logos, including the rear screen with its etched VIN marking. The original OMP roll cage is still in place with its period stickers, together with FIA approved OMP safety harnesses. The car also retains its correct carbon racing seat, type VID CARBON CS.665.95, in original red upholstery with its labels still present, combined with the correct leather passenger seat. This original mixed configuration is now rarely seen, as many examples have since been converted to either two comfort seats or two full Challenge seats. The condition of the body is equally impressive, free from corrosion and further supported by the presence of original body assembly markings.This F355 Challenge is fully sorted and absolutely ready to be enjoyed. There are no open points and no pending work. It has been thoroughly prepared in house to ensure it can be driven with confidence and without concern for many miles to come. A new set of tyres has been fitted, the flywheel resurfaced and revised with a new clutch assembly, and a major service carried out including timing belts, water pump and engine seals. The alternator has been revised, and both fuel pumps and filters replaced. All work has been executed to a high standard and with great care. The result is exactly what you want from a car like this. It starts instantly, runs clean and strong, shifts perfectly and feels tight and precise on the road. With around 1,355 kilos to move, the car reacts immediately to every input. The open gated manual gearbox feels exactly as a Ferrari should: mechanical, precise and deeply satisfying.
