The F8 Tributo replaced the 488 GTB and is the last mid-engined Ferrari with a pure petrol engine, without hybrid assistance. The name is a tribute to the 3.9 litre V8 itself, voted best engine in the world four years running. That engine comes essentially from the 488 Pista: 720 ps at 8,000 rpm and 770 Nm, with titanium connecting rods, a lighter crankshaft and a lighter flywheel. To meet stricter emissions standards Ferrari had to fit particulate filters, which increase back pressure. Power nonetheless remained identical to the Pista's. The S-Duct in the nose also comes from the Pista and delivers 15 percent more downforce. Compared to the 488 GTB, the F8 is up to 40 kg lighter.Fun fact: the Lexan engine cover with its horizontal louvres is a direct reference to the F40.
