The car’s name, like most Lamborghini models, was inspired by bullfighting."Murciélago" was a famous Spanish fighting bull that survived 24 sword strokes in a battle in 1879, reflecting the car's strength, endurance, and intensity.In 2006, Lamborghini unveiled the Murciélago LP640, an upgraded version with more power, better handling, and refined styling. The "LP" in the name stands for "Longitudinale Posteriore," which refers to the engine's longitudinal, rear-mounted position, a traditional layout for Lamborghini’s V12 supercars.
