It succeeded the DB9 (2004–2016) and was part of Aston Martin’s “Second Century Plan.” Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2016 under the direction of designer Marek Reichman, the DB11 marked a significant shift in the brand’s design language, introducing a new aluminum platform that also underpinned the Vantage and DBS Superleggera.
