November 1962 und anschließend in die USA, New York verschifft, wo er Anfang 1963 zugelassen wurde. Amerika besaß selbst keine ernstzunehmenden Sportwagen, liebte den E Type und hatte das Geld. Nahezu 70 % des linksgelenkten E-Types wurden in die USA verkauft, speziell die Roadster (OTS).In 2020 haben wir diesen E Type in sehr guten und unrestauriertem Zustand gefunden. Mit Matching Numbers, einer sehr soliden Karosserie und allen wichtigen Chrom-Anbauteilen. Das ist sehr wichtig für ein späteres perfektes Gesamtbild nach der Restauration. Der Grund: Schon im Werk bei der Produktion des E-Type wurde diese Teile, Scheinwerferringe, Stoßstangen vorne & hinten sowie die Rückleuchten an der Karosserie angepasst. Nachproduzierte Teile gibt es, diese passen jedoch nie wirklich. Der E-Type wurde nach Europa verschifft und die Nut & Bolt Bare Metal Restauration begann.Wie bei jedem unser eigenen restaurierten E-TYPEs wird jede einzelne Schraube in die Hand genommen, alle Hohlräume geöffnet, nur nicht reparable Karosseriebleche fachgerecht rausgetrennt und durch neue ersetzt. Hier wird stets größten Wert daraufgelegt, genau wie das Jaguar Werk in den 1960er zu arbeiten. Alle Schweißpunkte sind korrekt, jedes Detail ist an seinem richtigen Platz und es wurde ausschließlich Zinn statt Karosseriespachtel für die Begradigung der Oberflächen benutzt. Eine Technik, die heute nur noch wenige Spezialisten beherrschen und anwenden. Die Spaltmaße und die Oberflächen, die flachen Karosseriebleche sprechen hier für sich. Es sind 2 Klarlackschichten aufgetragen und zusätzlich keramikversiegelt. Die Restaurationsdauer betrug über 2.000 Arbeitsstunden. Der Matching Number Motor wurde nach der Komplettrevision und bevor er in den E-Type montiert wurde, mit dem Getriebe auf einem Prüfstand getestet. Zusätzlich haben wir dem E Type historisch korrekte 6x15 Curley Hub Competition Felgen gegönnt.Nach seiner Komplett-Restauration die in2021 fertig war ist der E Type von uns 400 km testgefahren worden, bevor er an den damaligen Käufer und heutigen Besitzer übergeben wurde.Seitdem ist der E-TYPE stets in einer hochkarätigen Sammlung trocken, sauber und sicher geparkt worden und bis heute 1.000 km gefahren worden und besitzt Deutsche Papiere.Dieser E Type liefert Ihnen höchste Qualität und fährt perfekt. America had no serious sports cars of its own, loved the E-Type and had the money. It has matching numbers, a very solid body and all the key chrome fittings. This is crucial for achieving a perfect overall finish once the restoration is complete. The reason: even at the factory during the production of the E-Type, these parts – headlamp bezels, front and rear bumpers, and the rear lights – were fitted to the bodywork. Replica parts are available, but they never really fit properly. The E-Type was shipped to Europe and the nut-and-bolt bare-metal restoration began.As with every E-Type we restore ourselves, every single screw is examined by hand, all cavities are opened up, and only body panels that cannot be repaired are professionally cut out and replaced with new ones. We always place the utmost importance on working exactly as the Jaguar factory did in the 1960s. All weld points are correct, every detail is in its proper place, and only tin was used instead of body filler to level the surfaces. A technique that only a few specialists still master and use today. The gap dimensions, the surfaces and the flat body panels speak for themselves here. Two coats of clear lacquer have been applied, and the finish has also been ceramic-sealed.The restoration took over 2,000 working hours by our experts. Following a complete overhaul and before being fitted to the E-Type, the matching-number engine was tested on a dynamometer alongside the gearbox. We also treated the E-Type to historically accurate 6x15 Curley Hub Competition wheels.Following its complete restoration, which was completed in 2021, we test-drove the E-Type for 400 km before handing it over to the then buyer and current owner.Since then, the E-Type has always been kept dry, clean and safely parked in a high-calibre collection, has covered 1,000 km to date, and comes with German registration documents.This E-Type offers you the highest quality and drives perfectly.
