Back in 1991, the Bugatti EB110 GT was the most advanced car of its time, raising the bar for engineering to a level never seen before. Its carbon fibre chassis, quad-turbo V12 engine and four-wheel drive were all world firsts for a supercar. Its legendary handling and stellar performance from its 550 HP V12 engine instantly made it an icon of the '90s — this is one of the most fascinating supercars ever. This breathtaking example was delivered to Gualtiero Giribaldi in Monaco in 1994 via the Monegasque importer Monte Carlo Royal Motors. A scion of a business dynasty based in Milan and Monte Carlo, he ordered the Bugatti in the rare Rosso Scuro with a dual-tone grey interior as part of his extensive stable of supercars. Having used the car sparingly, he put it up for sale at a Bonhams auction held in Monaco in May 2005. Bonhams described the EB110 as a one-owner car with only 7,045 km on the clock, saying that it was in 'excellent condition throughout, appearing as it left the factory only yesterday'.The next owner was none other than HSH Sheikh Nasser Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait and Prime Minister, and the car remained in his collection for 17 years. In 2023, his legendary car collection was sold at auction by Bonhams. The car had only covered 7,105 km and appeared to have not been driven for the last 17 years. Although it was expected to undergo a full mechanical overhaul upon arrival, it was found to have suffered from the Kuwaiti climate, humidity and proximity to the sea, as well as the fact that it was now a 30-year-old machine.Although the car looked nice, all the mechanical components were covered in dust and surface corrosion. The subsequent owner entrusted our Art & Revs workshop with the task of completely restoring the car and renewing all its mechanical components. The car was stripped down to the chassis and meticulously restored, with all the original paintwork and metal treatments renewed. This restoration was the subject of many articles, and it is probably the most beautiful EB110 GT in existence. The car’s rebirth was sanctioned at the Quail Concourse in 2024 when it was exhibited for the first time and it was displayed also at Retromobile in 2025. The EB 110 GT #071 is offered today exactly in the same condition as coming from the Bugatti showroom in 1994, as beautiful and exciting to drive. It comes with a nice documentation and a large restoration report.
