Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0 inline-six – US import, rear-wheel drive, fully Mike Sanders treatedBuilt 2000, 4.0 inline-six, automatic, rear-wheel drive. So there is no misunderstanding: this is not a 4x4, but one of very few 2WD XJs in Europe – and noticeably more economical for it.ORIGIN AND PAPERWORKUS import, not delivered new in Germany. The previous owner was told it was a German car, which is demonstrably untrue – I am not passing that story on. Available: Chrysler technical data sheet (pre-COC), the Einzelbetriebserlaubnis documents and the full history, all viewable on site. Since the import the car lived in Germany, today it is in Luxembourg.MILEAGE135,910 km. Oil change by the previous owner at 131,000 km, I took the car over at 133,000 km and have driven roughly 2,900 km since, including several longer trips – trouble-free.INSPECTIONPassed in April 2026 with no defects.RUST PROTECTION – THE HEART OF THIS CARThe entire underbody was stripped of its old tar coating and then fully treated with Mike Sanders corrosion protection grease, done by myself. 12 kg of grease went in: all cavities, all doors, the tailgate, the complete underbody, all chassis rails, axles and springs. Nothing was left out. Workshop quotes for this job were around 1,500 EUR, realistically closer to 2,100 EUR with this amount of grease.Video of the treated underbody: https://youtube.com/shorts/YmtHpktjf2cREAR RIGHT SILL REPAIR – FULLY DISCLOSEDA previous owner jacked the car up on the sill instead of the chassis rail and pushed the jack through. Instead of a proper repair, the whole right sill was covered over with filler – not detectable by the previous owner or by me at purchase.I removed all the filler, cut out the affected area, welded in a new sill panel, treated it with Brunox Epoxy rust converter primer and coated it in Raptor Liner. The weld seam is slightly visible on close inspection – deliberately so, an honest metal repair mattered more to me than an invisible filler job. This was the only affected spot, the car is otherwise rust-free.MECHANICALS- 4.0 inline-six, runs perfectly, mechanically excellent- Automatic shifts cleanly- Cooling system overhauled: new water pump, new radiators, new coolant, thermostat with gasket- No temperature issues, not even in summerMAINTENANCE BY THE PREVIOUS OWNERValve cover gasket, oil pan gasket and water pump I could confirm visually as fresh and dry. Also: shock absorbers front and rear including bump stops, cooling system cleaner, heater core, V-belt, service parts, complete rear brakes, front discs skimmed, air conditioning refilled, seat belt, seat, mirror, oil change at 131,000 km.COSMETICS- Plastic parts (bumpers, wheel arch flares) recoated in Raptor Liner – uniform and durable- 1980s Snowflake alloy wheels sanded back and re-lacquered, clean and presentable- New headlight surrounds- LED headlights with E-mark, original headlights included (refitted in about an hour)- Windows behind the B-pillar tinted, front windows untinted – fully legal in Germany with no further approval- Interior deep cleaned; a few stains remain, overall clean and pleasant- Pioneer radio in 1980s look with Bluetooth and hands-freeTYRES2019 date code, plenty of tread, no cracking, safe and neutral in the wet.HONEST LIST OF FAULTS26 years old and from the USA. From five metres it looks flawless, but it is not a new car – I would rather name the weak points myself:- Two cigarette burns (driver's seat, rear bench)- Cracked trim on the mirror switch, switches work perfectly- Some paint chips- Front right bumper slightly bent (damage from before my time), not visible in normal use- Slightly visible weld seam on the rear right sillPRICE: 16,000 EUR ONOViewing and test drive by arrangement, all paperwork available to inspect. Private sale, sold as seen with no warranty and no right of return.
