The Citroen ID/DS was available in three series, with the later two series 1962-1967 & 1968-1975 being the most seen these days. The early cars have some beautiful design features and quirks and not as many of them have survived. It's the pure look like it was first meant in 1955. This Citroen comes with the French 'carte grise' registration from the Puy-de-Dome Prefecture in Southern france and the car was first registered on the 8th of April 1960 - Now near 66 years old. The car found it's way to a Citroen collector from southn Germany who had a sympathetic restoration & major mechanical overhaul done by a DS specialist.All bodypanels are in beautiful condition and wear a beautiful coat of new paint in AC 604 Bleu Nuage. All doors appear to be very original and never repaired, no repair panels welded in. The same goes for the fenders. Everything lines up very well, good panelgaps and nice and thin metal. The chassis is very original and appears to be wearing it's original satin-black coat of paint! Factory chalk-marks in the engine bay, nice original doorjambs and a undercarriage/floors in excellent condition. No previous welding done.Inside, the beautiful 50's styling of the dashboard in beautiful original condition. A dashboard placed button for the Clignoteur (blinkers) is a great feature to see. Beautiful blue Helanca interior in great condition. Original upholstery over the sills and a new set of floormats in the correct Bouclé fabric.The engine bay itself looks quite original with factory chalkmarks still visible. Technically it's fit, a lot has been replaced and the LHS system was replaced for the beloved and more friendly LHM (liquide hydraulique minerale) hydraulic system. The engine runs excellent and shows beautiful green paint on the block. Most parts on and around the engine have been replaced or rebuilt. A rebuilt carburator, new distributor, cap, rotor, condensator, plugs, wires and coil. New fuelpump, lines, filter and a new set of engine mounts. The maintenance was done in recent years and the complete hydraulic system was replaced while converting to LHM. That means new spheres, high pressure pump, accumulator and steering rack.The car rides excellent on the LHM suspension and Michelin tires. The converting to LHM makes this series One ID19 much more useble. The quality of the body and paintwork is excellent.1960 Citroen ID19P now Available.
