Der W113 ersetzte 1963 den R121 und wurde 1971 vom R107 abgelöst.Die Chefdesigner waren Paul Bracq und Béla Barényi.Der 230 SL (1963–1967), der 250 SL (1967) und der 280 SL (1968–1971) waren mit Schalt- oder Automatikgetriebe erhältlich.Fast alle Modelle waren serienmäßig mit einem Stoffverdeck ausgestattet, optional war jedoch ein Hardtop erhältlich. Das Hardtop hatte eine geschwungene Form, die an ein chinesisches Pagodendach erinnerte, weshalb der W113 auch als „Pagode“ bezeichnet wird. Auch ein 2+2-Coupé mit Hardtop war erhältlich; anstelle des Stoffverdeckkastens gab es eine umklappbare Sitzbank.Der hier angebotene Mercedes wurde in den USA ausgeliefert und kam 1993 in die Niederlande. Er hatte in den Niederlanden nur einen einzigen Besitzer.Es ist ein wunderschönes Auto mit neuem Verdeck und neuer Innenausstattung. Es sieht aus wie neu. Unter der Motorhaube ist der trockene Motor zu sehen, der immer anspringt und einwandfrei läuft. Es ist ein sehr gut fahrendes Auto mit Automatikgetriebe. Es liegt noch ein aktuelles Wertgutachten und ein Hardtop vor. Dieses schöne offene Auto wird zu einem sehr guten Preis angeboten.
