Our website ruylclassics features 370 detailed photographs, together with the complete vehicle description in both Dutch and German.On 17 May 1989, this 300 SL was delivered as a Werksauslieferung in Sindelfingen to Mercedes-Benz employee Mr. Mannheimer. As one of the final examples of the R107 series, the car left the factory in Nautic Blue Metallic, combined with a grey interior featuring checked cloth seat inserts, an option rarely chosen when new.The 300 SL still retains its original factory paint throughout, showing only minimal signs of use. Only a few small scratches can be found on the rear deck area, caused by the removal and installation of the hardtop over the years. As always, these details have been documented in our extensive photo report. Finished in grey with checked cloth seat inserts the interior remains in near immaculate condition. The dashboard, door panels and carpets are all exceptionally well preserved. The dark blue fabric soft top is free from damage and the plastic windows remain remarkably clear.Carefully protected from new, the bodywork has survived in exceptional original condition. Large sections of the underside still retain their original factory-applied protective wax. Every detail indicates that this Mercedes was never used in winter conditions. The original Fahrzeugbrief further confirms that the car was officially taken off the road during several winter seasons throughout its life.The accompanying documentation is exceptionally comprehensive. In addition to the original Fahrzeugbrief, the car is supplied with its service book, Datakarte, countless maintenance invoices, inspection reports and numerous additional documents. Together they form an extensive and virtually “lückenlos” history file. The maintenance invoices and inspection reports also demonstrate that this Mercedes was maintained without compromise throughout its life.
