The car for sale is a 2006 e60 M5, was imported from Denmark with a mileage of 160k, and I have been its first owner in Poland since 2016. This car was my long-time automotive dream, so it has always been treated, maintained, and serviced with the respect it deserves. This is definitely a car for someone who understands how astronomical the service and parts costs have become—if parts are even available at all.I had no illusions about the running costs. As a reasonable and consistent person, I accepted them from the beginning, never cutting corners during servicing—because that always comes back to bite you. At every stage of the work listed below, there were additional thousands spent on all the “since we’ve taken it apart, we might as well replace it” items. One of the biggest advantages for the next owner is the fact that, unlike most imported cars, this one does NOT require the so-called “starter package,” i.e., rod bearings and everything else that tends to come up with them. Right after buying the M5, I had the rod bearings replaced—and I replaced them once again two years ago, in line with the mileage. Here comes one of the most important pieces of information for a new owner: during the second replacement, for peace of mind, we also changed the main bearings on the crankshaft. That was a 35k PLN service—yes, it hurt. Another major advantage is the perfect condition of the VANOS actuators. Mine underwent a dedicated full refurbishment and received all new solenoid valves. There’s a legend that an E60 M5 exists which passes the VANOS test with zero errors. Congratulations—you’ve just found it. Once connected to diagnostics, everything shows green :)Among other major (expensive) repairs, I should mention the replacement of two throttle actuators, the clutch, the fuel pump with filter and potentiometers, and the ignition coils. The car has been serviced almost from the very beginning at Bimmer Service directly by the owner, and I already have a platinum card there—as well as enough knowledge about this model to write a fairly solid master’s thesis.Living with OCD isn’t easy. With the ambition to keep the car as close to perfect as possible, I replaced many interior components. All plastics showing any wear are new, and the cherry on top was replacing all aluminium trim and door sills with brand-new pieces. For the visual aspect, the car has always been cared for by the professionals at Detailing Shop. I wouldn’t be myself if I didn’t bring them the car for full paint correction, ceramic coating, and deep interior cleaning before listing it for sale. All this so it would look exactly as it does in the photos—and it still does, because literally straight from the detailing studio I parked it in the garage to give myself time to be completely sure about the decision to sell. The car is, of course, fully VIN-matching. The modifications include lowered suspension on dedicated H&R springs, 15 mm spacers, braided steel brake lines, sport catalytic converters, and the absolutely insane Eventuri carbon intake. All modifications only improved the car's performance. As a fun fact, the car originally came equipped with a Westfalia tow hook—must have been quite a sight to see an M5 towing a boat trailer :) The car has always been garage-kept, with current inspection and insurance. My M5 journey is coming to an end. The car drives and looks exactly as I intended, and with a clear conscience I am ready to pass this automotive icon—and at the same time a factory of smiles—to its next enthusiast. Ending with “no financial investment required” would be an understatement; buying such a car is never simple, but I am convinced it’s extremely hard to find another example as free from the typical E60 M5 issues as mine. Below is the service interval, although many more things could be added. After passing 150k PLN invested in the car, I stopped counting—I realised this wasn’t an investment, just a pursuit of a childhood dream I was lucky enough to afford, and which will now reward the next owner.Below are the most important repairs, though there were many more that are hard to recall over the years:full refurbishment and sealing of the SMG system, new SMG control unit!rod bearingsidle control valveairbox gasket replacementfront control arm bushingsstarter and alternator refurbishmentpower steering pressure linesbrake caliper refurbishment + braided brake linesrear control arm and subframe bushingsfuel tank vent valve and filterreplacement of fuel pump, fuel filter, and potentiometersthrottle body cleaning, upper engine resealingthrottle actuatorsVANOS actuator refurbishment + new solenoid valvesignition coils and spark plugsclutchreplacement of rod and main bearings, lower engine resealing, VANOS pressure line, timing chain guidesrear wheel hub bearingsauxiliary oil pumpsionic current moduleslambda sensorsMAF sensorscrankshaft position sensorbatterydifferential pressure sensorvoltage regulator
