Our Jaguar E-Type Series 1 3.8 Roadster is a very fine example, built in September 1963 and first registered in 1964. Of American provenance before arriving in France, it is now in the hands of its fifth French owner and benefits from a particularly extensive historical file.The car is accompanied by its Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, confirming chassis number 880100, its production date of 5 September 1963, as well as its original factory specification. It was originally finished in Opalescent Dark Green, with a Suede Green interior and black hood.One of the main highlights of this example is its complete restoration carried out in 2000. The work is extensively documented by a substantial file of invoices together with numerous photographs showing the different stages of the restoration, including major work to the bodywork, mechanical components, running gear and interior.The car was then refinished in its current specification, combining an elegant dark blue exterior with a beige leather interior and dark blue hood. An appraisal carried out in 2017 confirms the complete restoration of the vehicle and highlights the very good overall condition of the bodywork, interior and mechanical components. At the time of inspection, no evidence of accident damage or recurring corrosion was noted.Its maintenance history did not stop with the restoration. In 2017, the cylinder head was machined and pressure-tested, with replacement of the head gasket and coolant hoses. A major intervention the following year covered the rear axle, braking system, cooling system and several mechanical components, including replacement of the alternator and cooling fan, together with an engine service.More recently, the car has continued to benefit from regular maintenance. Following several documented interventions in 2021, 2023 and 2025, it underwent a significant recommissioning in June 2026 at Département Classic. The work included a full diagnostic, bleeding of the braking and clutch circuits, replacement of the steering rack gaiters, adjustment of a steering linkage, replacement of the crankshaft damper pulley and front left hub, as well as four new Vredestein Sprint Classic 185 R15 tyres with inner tubes and balancing. This latest work further complements an already extensive history file.The Series 1 3.8 E-Type occupies a special place in Jaguar history. Its long bonnet, flowing lines and roadster architecture make it one of the most iconic British sports cars of its era.
