HighlightsBased on an original 1968 Austin Mini Cooper shellMetal-bodied Sprint conversion with glass windows throughoutThree former registered keepersCurrent registered keeper of approximately 18 yearsBuilt 1070cc engine (Decked A+ block, 1071 Crank) and overhauled gearboxThe AppealThe Mini Sprint is one of the most visually arresting interpretations of the classic Mini, achieved through the demanding process of sectioning and reshaping the original steel bodyshell to create a dramatically lower, sleeker silhouette. Unlike simpler fibreglass conversions, a properly executed metal-bodied Sprint requires extensive fabrication to the doors, pillars, window apertures, wheel arches and interior fittings, making such examples considerably rarer and more involved to produce. This particular car is based on an original 1968 Austin Mini Cooper shell that has been de-seamed and converted to Sprint specification with glass windows throughout, not the usual perspex. Power comes from a built 1,070cc engine featuring a decked A+ block and 1071 crank, mated to an overhauled gearbox, both completed at the time of the build. The wider specification includes hydroelastic suspension, front disc brakes, twin fuel tanks and a period-correct working Harry Moss 8-track sound system. In the hands of its current registered keeper from 2008 until this year, the car has seen only very sparing use. _88A0982.jpg 2.96 MBKey InformationMileage: 93,466 miles (indicated)Country of registration: United KingdomTechnical inspection status: MOT/road tax exemptTechnical specs: built 1,070cc four-cylinder petrol (decked A+ block, 1071 crank), four-speed manual gearboxPaperwork: V5C, BMIHT certificate, MOT certificates, articles, restoration/build photographs, numerous invoices from specialists including Mini Spares_88A1000.jpg 3.28 MBThe DetailMetal-bodied Sprint conversion on a de-seamed 1968 Austin Mini Cooper shellGlass windows fitted throughout, not perspexBuilt 1,070cc engine with decked A+ block and 1071 crank, rebuilt at the time of the buildGearbox overhauled at the time of the buildCSI classic sport ignition fittedHydroelastic suspensionFront disc brakesTwin fuel tanksCorbeau seatsMountney GT steering wheelCooper style reverse rimsHinged rear number plate holderWorking Harry Moss 8-track sound systemUsed very sparingly since 2018_88A0933.jpg 2.55 MBBEFORE YOU BUY This sale is subject to the Car & Classic Terms and Conditions.
