Informationen auf Deutsch: Nach dem 700 kam für BMW die Neue Klasse. Baur produzierte nun auch die Cabrio-Version. Zunächst (genau wie beim 501 und 700) völlig offen. Doch aufgrund des sportlichen Charakters, den sich BMW angeeignet hatte, wurde das Cabriolet auch sportlich gefahren, und dafür war die volloffene Variante nicht steif genug. Um Abhilfe zu schaffen, wurde eine Art Targa-Halterung verwendet. Die harte Mittelverkleidung war abnehmbar und die Heckscheibe ließ sich herunterklappen. Diese Konstruktion sollte zum prägenden Bild für die späteren BMW Baur TCs werden. Die ersten BMWs, die Baur auf diese Weise herstellte, stammten aus der Baureihe 02. Auf Basis der Baureihe 02 gab es übrigens auch ein Vollcabrio.Der BMW Baur, den wir hier präsentieren, kommt aus Italien.
