(for English see below) Na bijna 27 jaar mag deze Citroen DS 21 Pallas Halfautomaat (LPG), van 11 mei 1970 het warme nest verlaten.De historie:In het jaar 2000 hebben wij deze auto van familie uit Frankrijk overgenomen. In Frankrijk werd hij technisch goed onderhouden en draaide hij zijn wekelijkse tochtjes van het kasteel naar de markt.Eenmaal in Nederland begon een zeer grondige restauratie van bijna 3 1/2 jaar. Eerst werd de auto volledig kaal gehaald om de staat van de techniek, het interieur en exterieur goed te kunnen beoordelen. De auto was technisch zo goed dat werd besloten tot een zeer grondige restauratie. Het plaatwerk, het onderstel, het interieur, het werd allemaal grondig aangepakt, waarbij met het oog op een lange levensduur veel preventief vernieuwd werd en zodanig werd hersteld dat roest geen vat meer kon krijgen op het chassis, het plaatwerk, de uitlaat of andere delen. Het technische werk, laswerk, het plaatwerk, het coaten van het chassis, het spuitwerk en het afhangen van de carrosserie werden allemaal aan vakspecialisten uitbesteed.Van de hele restauratie is een fotoverslag en documentatie aanwezig. In 2003 werd de DS toegelaten op het Nederlands wegennet en nu, na bijna 27 jaar gekoesterd in de familie, mag zij door naar een nieuwe eigenaar. Het spreekt voor zich dat gedurende al die jaren de DS uitstekend is onderhouden door DS specialisten en dat er ook in deze periode goed geïnvesteerd is om de auto in topconditie te houden.De Citroen was de 4e auto en werd alleen gebruikt voor de zondagse ritten, familie trouwerijen, een vakantie door het Franse platteland of een klassieke autorallye. De Citroen heeft al die jaren droog en verwarmd gestald gestaan in een donkere garage. Detail foto’s zijn op verzoek beschikbaar.After almost 27 years, this Citroën DS 21 Pallas Semi-Automatic (LPG), first registered on 11 May 1970, is ready to leave its loving home and find a new owner.HistoryIn 2000, we acquired the car from family in France. While in France, it had been technically well maintained and was used for its weekly trips from the château to the local market.Once in the Netherlands, the car underwent an exceptionally thorough restoration lasting almost three and a half years. It was first completely stripped in order to assess the condition of the mechanical components, interior and bodywork. The car proved to be mechanically very sound, providing an excellent basis for a comprehensive restoration.The bodywork, chassis and interior were all extensively addressed. With long-term preservation in mind, many components were replaced preventively, and particular attention was paid to ensuring that corrosion would no longer be able to affect the chassis, body panels, exhaust system or other vulnerable parts.All specialist work — including mechanical work, welding, bodywork, chassis coating, paintwork and the final alignment and fitting of the body panels — was entrusted to experienced professionals.A comprehensive photographic record and documentation of the entire restoration are available.In 2003, the DS was registered for use on Dutch roads. Now, after almost 27 years of being cherished within the family, it is ready for its next owner. Throughout this period, the DS has naturally been maintained to a very high standard by Citroën DS specialists, with continued investment to keep the car in excellent condition.The Citroën was always a fourth car and was used exclusively for Sunday drives, family weddings, holidays through the French countryside and classic car rallies.
