The Ferrari 599 GTO V12The limited-edition Ferrari 599 GTO (Gran Turismo Omologato) is the ultimate version of the 599 GTB. In fact, it is a road-going version of the Ferrari 599XX. Its public debut took place at the end of April 2010 at the Beijing International Motor Show. The GTO weighs nearly one hundred kilograms less than the standard 599 GTB. This was achieved in part by making several components out of carbon fiber, such as the front splitter, side skirts, the dual rear diffuser, and various interior elements (parts of the console, dashboard, and seats). Thanks to this weight reduction, the GTO is more than a full second faster than the Enzo on Ferrari’s Fiorano test track. The shifting, steering, throttle response—everything feels different and much sportier!That’s why we are so proud to have been able to acquire this special Ferrari 599 GTO “Zanasi Edizione”!Carrozzeria Zanasi is a historic company based in Maranello. This location quickly led to a strong influence from the area’s greatest manufacturer: Ferrari.The collaboration between Carrozzeria Zanasi and Ferrari began in 1964, when Enzo Ferrari himself was searching for craftsmen to repair his cars. This is how Enzo met Umberto Zanasi, a talented young local craftsman. Thanks to his dedication and outstanding skills, Umberto immediately won the trust of “Il Drake.”The real breakthrough came in 1970 with the arrival of sheet-metal worker Sergio Martinelli and painter Adriano Giusti. At that time, Ferrari’s official body shop in Modena, Scaglietti, stopped repairing production cars for Ferrari clients, and Carrozzeria Zanasi became the new responsible party.At the same time, Ferrari granted official recognition to a relationship that had long been based solely on the mutual respect between Umberto Zanasi and Enzo Ferrari. An official and industrial partnership was born!From that point on, the collaboration grew stronger and broader over the decades. Today, there are very few new Ferraris that don’t pass through Zanasi before delivery. Special colors, striping, airbrushed emblems, and carbon modifications are all outsourced by Ferrari to Zanasi.And now, more about our Ferrari 599 GTO “Zanasi Edition”In 2010, a valued customer at Ferrari Berlin was invited to configure his Ferrari 599 GTO. Unimpressed by what he saw as the limited options for creating his ideal GTO, he asked his dealer whether something more special could be done. This ultimately led to a truly unique specification, designed in collaboration with Ferrari and Zanasi. The car was finished in “Bianco Perla,” a metallic white that beautifully accentuates the striking lines of the GTO, enhanced by a livery in “Marrone Metallic.” In addition, all the carbon fiber parts on both the exterior and interior were painted in brown, and even the wheels were given a carbon-look finish.
